Government Excavation Contractor
This is a government excavation contractor in West Central Indiana. They primarily do INDOT roadwork, small structures, and bridges. Of course, anything with moving dirt is in their wheelhouse. They could do development work, but the current owner chooses not to. Significant equipment, estimated at over $2 mil, is included in the sale; all in good working order. Great employees in place with lots of experience to be successful. New owner should have excavation or construction management experience.
Retirement
Office & Shop building, currently leased. Could be continued or buyer could consolidate into their facility elsewhere.
The barreir to entry for DOT contractors is pretty decent. Being pre-qualified allows you to bid on jobs that other contractors may not be able to bid on. There are competitors in this space of course, but there is a lot of state and federal money being spent as well.
The work so far from the state has been huge. There's work everywhere; it just depends on where you, as the owner, want to focus your efforts. There really seems to be an open opportunity here.
